So why are golf swing exercises important?
Well, aside from the physical fitness aspect, they help to
train your brain to perform a specific action without needing
to expressly think about it. Golf exercises doesn't
just mean physical exercises, but includes practice drills and
mental attitude adjustment.
So where's the starting point? Before
we begin talking about swinging the golf club, let's start
with some stretching.
|
101 Stretches for
Golf is a great warm up
tool. It's designed by experts that
understand how important a proper warm up is
for your body.
Without properly stretching,
not only can you injure yourself, you can
adversely affect your golf game.
Stretch before every game,
and you'll be sure to shave strokes off.

Now that we're got our stretching guide,
it's time to move on to the practice portion. But why
is repetitive practice so important?
You can think of it like learning to
type. Typing exercises are designed to teach your
brain to reach for keys without having to consciously think
about each key. I can type at between 75 and 125 words
per minute because I actively practise typing to fine tune
my skills.
A similar concept exists when it comes to
swinging golf clubs. That's why people go to a driving
range and spend hours hitting balls onto the practice
fairway.

Previouly I mentioned the mental
exercise. Metnal confidence is critical, because it can
mean the different between success and failure. If you go
into a round thinking that you'll have a bad day you can pretty
much kiss the win goodbye.
You need to maintain a positive mental
attitude at all times. This is no simple task, especially
under pressure. But no worries, there are some things you
can do to ensure your success here.

sleep, or during your commute, whichever works
